Which Round Brush Should You Buy? Ceramic vs. Natural Blowdry Hair Brushes

Choosing a round brush for your hair type and hairstyling dreams can be overwhelming, but not to fret! As a professional stylist, I’ve tried them all - natural brushes, ceramic, large, small, drugstore and professional brands. In this video I’m breaking it all down for you: how to choose the bristles and the sizes of your brushes.

I’ve been doing hair for almost 7 years now and I swear by Olivia Garden and Moroccan Oil brushes. They are truly the best.

Remember:

  • The larger the brush, the straighter the hair and the faster your blowdry.

  • Tension is the most important part of a good blow-out. You want to buy brushes that have strong tension without breaking the hair. Tension is what gives hair smoothness and shine, especially on the ends.

  • The size of your brush determines the size of your blowdry. Just like with makeup, we use a brush size that corresponds to the size of the hair section. Using a size that’s too small or too big won’t give you nice results.
